Loan Interest

Loan interest - factors that determine loan interest rates
Numerous theories explain why credit exists. Compensation for inflation or reimbursement because the lender cannot spend the money immediately, up to an investment in future productivity gains that the borrower obtains through new investments. Interest simply reflects the cost of borrowing an amount. The interest on a loan is determined, in simplified terms, according to the following points. The basis is a risk-free interest rate over the same term. As a rule, a government bond with the best credit rating is used. In general: the shorter the term, the lower the interest on a loan. When the term is extended, the risk for the lender rises. Finally, an additional markup is added to the interest rate. This so-called margin is made up of two parts: processing fees and profit, as well as the borrower's personal risk. Every bank sets its own criteria for assessing risk. These include occupation, income and age, among other things. To minimize the bank's risk, the lender is interested in collateral. Loan interest is reduced when the borrower provides more collateral. Additional costs are built into the effective interest rate. It contains all the costs incurred for administering the loan.[caption id="attachment_497" align="alignright" width="509"]
